Introducing the mokom "Construction Chain" letter

Jason & I would like to introduce you to our Blog--Construction Chain Letter.

mokom seeks to transform construction with the same success the Toyota Production System (TPS) produced in manufacturing.  Key to the approach is getting the entire “construction chain” (including manufacturers, suppliers, subcontractors, superintendents and homeowner/clients) working from a common playbook.  PunchDone ( communicates outstanding, usually critical to build completion punch list activities to the all relevant participants in the construction chain.  Using PunchDone more accurately records, allowing both picture and voice recording while tracking, and then get this information to the right pieces of the construction chain instantaneously with email and text notifications.

Not surprisingly, construction as a industry has lagged every other sector of the economy in terms of productivity.  According to the BLS (Bureau of Labor Statistics), since 1964, the average american worker is 150% more productive today.  Construction workers, on the other hand, have posted an average of 5% less productive.  Nearly everyone has either experienced or heard the ubiquitous story of the unreliable contractor, performing work that makes conditions worse rather than better with a schedule that took longer and cost more than anticipated.
